By supporting young people to manage their own tenancy and develop the skills to be independent and gain employment this can have great benefits to landlords and property owners. The support we offer focusses regular practical support such as benefits, budgeting, financial awareness and employability, as well as basic skills such as managing their tenancy and dealing with issues.
The Anchorage Trust has an expectation on all young people to engage with the support on offer from the Trust and it's partner agencies to ensure they are making the most of the opportunities on offer to them. We expect all young people to be meaningfully engaged in meaningful activity.
The landlords the Trust work with in partnership must go through our process to ensure they understand our ethos mission and vision and our aims with the young people we work with and have a clear assessment process for landlords.
Landlords will have the opportunity to join our landlord advisory board to help shape the service we offer to young people and how this can have benefits for both landlords and tenants. We will host regular landlord forums and will be developing a 'how to be a great landlord' course as part of the process to being involved in our work.
We work with highly experienced advisors and partners LNR Property Investment, Stressless Property Solutions and others to ensure we are facilitating good quality, affordable and sustainable accommodation options for young people.
We are always wanting to explore new accommodation of various types to expand the offer of the trust and improve overall accommodation standards locally.
