No Gaff For The Gaffers - Gt Yarmouth Town FC Managers take to the streets for 24hrs.
Martyn Sinclair & His fellow manager at Great Yarmouth Town Adam Mason, also a trustee of the Anhorage Trust took to the streets of Great Yarmouth for a full 24hrs to raise money and awareness for our work. The challenge started at 8am on 26th April and finished to a round of applause on 27th at 8am (They even managed to lead their team to a 2-0 win in a crucial game at the Wellesley (the wettest and coldest part of the challenge) They found it both very eye opening, tough yet very humbling experience and managed to raise an incredible amount of money. Total. amount raised to be released soon Thanks to Palmers for getting involved and allowing use of their doorway and to Potters Resort for coming down late in the evening to give a generous donation, their continued support is much appreciated. Thanks to all the visitors who came down to support the guys and to everyone who donated and Radio Norfolk, Great Yarmouth Mrcury and EDP for the coverage.
Community Challenge raises £400
We were very pleased that the recent Inspired Youth Charity Challenge raised an amazing £400 for two cuses. One being ourselves and the other Nelson's Journey who do amazing work with children & young people suffering from Bereavement. Pandora Buck Runs Dublin Marathon
The amazing Pandora Buck from the Active Clinic recently ran the Dublin marathon in aid of the Anchorage Trust. Pandora raised an incredible £1546 towards our work. We are hugely grateful for her efforts.
Back to Basics Bushcraft Sessions
Huge thanks to Jonathan and our friends at Back to basics for their time and experise in offering our young people the opportunity to learn new skills, develop leadership, problem solving and teamworking skills. These sessions will develop and young people will have the chance to pursue leadership courses such as the John Muir Award.
Spirit of Enterprise Award Winner
We were shocked, humbled and proud to be awarded a Spirit of Enterprise Award against some very tough competition at a glittering ceremony at Great Yarmouth Town Hall. This is an amazing way to say thankyou to all our incredible team of trustees, staff and volunteers as well as our amazing supporters who make an outstanding contribution to our work every day. Huge thanks to sponsors Lovewell Blake and award sponsors GYB Services. It was very fitting to be presented the award by Geoff Tucker from Norse who has given us unbelievable support since we were first founded.
Celebration Event - Lads Need Dads
We were very proud to attend the celebration event for fellow School for Social Entrepreneurs members Lads Need Dads in Clacton, Essex. Inspirational work from Sonia and her team of volunteer mentors. Wishing them continued success for the next part of the pilot project.
Santa Bounce - World Record Attempt! - 18th December 6pm-8pm
James our fundraising coordinator comes up with fantastic, if not a little crazy ideas! On 18th December 6pm-8pm we took part in a world record attempt for the most santas jumping on a trampoline at any one time. This event helped us to raise vital funds towards our work and the official total will be announced as soon as possible. This was a great event and one which bought the community together having fun but helping to raise the profile of the Anchorage Trust and it's work with young people locally.

Tenancy Drop In - Great Yarmouth Library/Great Yarmouth College
We are now continuing to host our tenancy drop ins weekly each and every wednesday 9.30am-11.30am in the Anna Sewell Room. This gives a forum for young people to discuss any issues or concerns they may have and also provides partner agencies with an opportunity to inform young people of any projects they may have available to them. We are often joined by visitors and by one of our landlord network to answer questions from a different perspective. If you would like to join us at one of our tenancy drop ins please let us know. Due to the success of these sessions we have been asked to hold a drop in the last Thursday of every month in the cafe bar. This provides an opportunity for students to discuss any issues they may be having with housing.
Great Yarmouth Town Win Thurlow Nunn League Performance Award - Donation to The Anchorage Trust
As part of our ongoing partnership with Great Yarmouth Town Football Club we were very kindly donated a cheque for £100 by the Thurlow Nunn League Chairman and Dax Harding, manager of Thurlow Nunn Great Yarmouth. The award follows GYTFC being awarded the performance award following their superb promotion chasing season. The award comes with a donation for the club and £100 for a charity of their choice and we are extremely grateful they chose us to recieve this award. We collected the donation on a very cold and wet evening at the Wellesley before a 2-0 win over Woodbridge. The football club have been huge supporters of ours and we thank them hugely for all the partnership working. The club have also supplied us with 100 free passes for our young people for home games going forward.
School For Social Entrepreneurs
Our founder Ben Stone has now completed and graduated from the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Ben has attended the Lloyds start up programme over the last 12 months in which we have grown rapidly and gained a great deal of support from the Eastern Enterprise Hub, Ben now becomes a fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
Bubblegum Presents...Fashion Show goes with a bang!
Our recent fundraiser at St Georges Theatre was hailed an enormous success after rasing an amazing £1000 towards our work. It also was supported so incredibly by our local community and businesses alike. A great time was had by all. Our thanks to Soulla at Bubblegum Boutique, Emma Jarvis and her team at The Hair Base, Paul Irving and the team at St Georges Theatre and all the stand holders who made it a superb event. Awarded Funding from GYBC as part of the Queens 90th Birthday Celebration Grants
We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application for funding from Great Yarmouth Borough Council as part of the Queens 90th Birthday celebrations grants. This will enable us to grow our tenancy drop in sessions and develop our mandatory 6 week development programme for EAAT young people. Look out for more updates soon. Food Army Initiative
We are proud to have linked with Harbour Radio & The Salvation Army to raise awareness and increase donations to our local food bank. This initiative which is the brain child of Harbour Radio presenter Dave Eagle really fits with our values and ethos and many of our young people who often arrive in complex or crisis situations often benefit from the services provided by the Foodbank,
Get Into Cycling - Great Yarmouth Bike Project
Our young people started the 'Get Into Cycling' Course with Great Yarmouth Bike Project on 27th April. This is a 10 week programme to get young people interested in cycling and the safety aspects needed to ride safely. Simon Elliott from GYBP kindly arranged for a session exclusively for East Anglia Anchorage Trust young people to tale part in positive activity together. We look forward to hearing about their progress in the coming weeks.
Great Yarmouth Town Football Club Volunteering
Volunteer activity continues to be a great success at Great Yarmouth Town Football Club. The club have kindly linked up with EAAT to provide young people with positive volunteering experiences on match days. Pictured here is Anthony with chairman Mike Guymer. Project Of With Your Hair!
Our amazing volunteer Dannielle will be teaming up with the Salvation Army to offer free haircuts for the homeless or those who have been homeless and cant easily afford this service. More news as this gets up and running in October.
Fun On The Front Community Fun Day 24th July 2016
We are delighted to announce that as part of our ongoing partnership with Great Yarmouth Town Football Club we are jointly hosting a joint community fun day to shout about all that is great about the town. There will be fun stalls and activities and our friends at Harbour Radio will be on hand to entertain. If you would like to be involved either to host a stand, activity or have a business stand please let us know. We are also on the hunt for community groups to perform in our events arena.
Clifftop Festival Project
We are currently undertaking a project with the management committee from the Gorleston Cliufftop Festival. This project will see young people from the EAAT plan, and run the Queen's 90th Birthday tea party arena. There will also be volunteering throughout the wider festival programme and meeting employers and members of the committee throughout the 8 weeks of the project. This project forms part of our employability work offering real, paractical experiences which enables them to build their own positive network.

Our trustee Adam Mason and his fellow manager of Great Yarmouth Town Football Club Martyn Sinclair are braving the streets for a full 24hrs to raise awareness and funds for The EAAT, Adam leads from the front in all he does and we extend huge thanks for all he has done for us. Adam and 'Sinny' also felt inspired by the Brighter Futures Conference and have supplied us with 100 free passes for home games of GYTFC to support both the young people and the club. Youth Social Action Funding Success
We have been successful in gaining funding from Norfolk Community Foundation via the Youth Social Action Fund to work with our friends at Back to Basics. This project will see young people learn and develop leadership and teamwork skills and develop new experiences through the use of bushcraft. The project will also see the young people plan, develop and deliver a volunteer project which has benefit to their local community.
East Anglia Anchorage Trust - 1 Year Party Fundraiser - Spencer's Sportsbar, Great Yarmouth
Our 1 Year Party held at Spencers Sportsbar on 19th March 2016 raised a phenomenal £1696 towards our mission. We can't thank you enough for coming to share the celebrations and for giving so generously. We also would like to thank everyone who donated some amazing raffle prizes and to our friends at Potters Resort for the incredible weekend break for 2 for the Prize Draw. A huge thankyou is also needed for Declan McAvoy and Adam Mason of Great Yarmouth Town FC for the donation of the fabulous signed Norwich City Shirt, won by Jay Jay's Cafe in Gorleston, thanks to them for the huge bid which won the shirt!. The night itself was really well attended and music was provided by the incredibly talented Felix Simpson. As always we want to thank Spencer for providing all the food, venue and staff.
Gorleston Clifftop Festival 2016
What can we say! what an amazing weekend! We have to extend huge thanks to Vicky Webber, Mike Webber, Sadie Charles and the rest of the Clifftop Festival committe for their time in supporting this volunteering capacity project. The young people gave superb feedback on how much they enjoyed being involved in running the Queen's 90th Birthday Arena. They raised an amazing £300 for their positive activity fund.

Franklin impressed whilst attending the MyHi event at Potters Resort in Hopton. After a short work shadowing session he was offered the job as Night Receptionist. We wish him all the best in his new employment.
Ben Stone Receives Inspired Youth Award
Our founder and Chief Executive Ben Stone was very humbled to receive the award for best new mentor at the recent 6 year celebration of Inspired Youth. Ben received his award from Norwich MP Chloe Smith. Ben said "I am very humbled to receive this award from an organisation we are truly proud to be associated with and work in partnership with. Bubblegum Boutique Presents...25th June 2016
Bubblegum Boutique will be hosting a night of fashion and pampering at the St Georges Theatre in aid of the EAAT. There will be entertainment, demonstrations a fashion show and stalls. Tickets are £10 which includes a welcome drink and buffet. There will be a raffle and we will be looking for raffle prizes for the night if you can support us with any items. Come and join the fun. We are pleased to be exhibiting at this years WorkShopGY. This showcases opportunities available to those who are unemployed or not in education in Great Yarmouth. We will be joined by Inspired Youth to talk about the work we have undertaken with them on Brighter Futures. Brighter Futures Conference - St Georges Theatre, Great Yarmouth
Wow! What a showcase event. This conference was attended by over 60 people who wanted to support our work and particularly the work of our collaborative project 'Brighter Futures' with Inspired Youth. Huge thanks to everyone who came, contributed, pledged support and celebrated the achievements of our young people. Biggest thanks has to go to Natalie Davies & Rob Whitwood from Inspired Youth for running the event and making it a huge success. Also thanks to Paul Irving and all at St Georges Theatre for hosting the event and the superb food. The conference was kindly sponsored by Norse and we were very kindly presented with a cheque for £500 by our friends at Potters Resort.

East Anglia Anchorage Trust, Premier Foundation and Premier Sport Win Funding
We are very pleased to be awarded funding from the Sportivate fund for partnership working with Premier Sport and the Premier Foundation. This work will enable access to physical activity and sport for our young people where this may not be readily available or affordable. Look out for more information as this progresses.
Potters Resort Christmas Spectacular
Sunday 4th December 2016 saw Potters Resort host their Christmas Spectacular in aid of the Potters Friends Foundation. Potters have been an incredible supporter of ours and we appreciate all of their time, expertise and dedication they provide us with throughout the year.
Cheque Presentation for No Gaff For The Gaffers 24hr Sleep Out Challenge
Chief Executive Ben Stone attended the Great Yarmouth Town FC end of season presentation evening which took place on Saturday 7th May. The night included the presentation of a cheque for a phenomenal £3000 for the No Gaff For The Gaffers Challenge. Once again we extend huge gratitude to Martyn Sinclair and Adam Mason for taking on the challenge in such terrible conditions and for the fantastic effort in raising huge awareness for our work. We have already had contact with people for various things they would like to work with us on as a direct result of speaking to them whilst they were on the street.
Manchester Revisited - 11th March 2017, Tower Complex, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth
On 11th March 2017 we host our annual party but this time we are going huge! We always like our fundraising to be linked to a great night out or great experience and this is going to be the biggest and best yet with two of the very best tribute acts in the UK heading to Great Yarmouth to support our work. We have a very special appearance from Rick Witter, frontman of legendary 90's band Shed Seven. There will also be a raffle and auction with some amazing items up for grabs! Fun On The Front Sunday 24th July 2016
What a great, sunny day we had at the Wellesley for our first ever Fun On The Front Community Fun Day. There was stalls, a football tournament for the U6's, Zorbs, Archery & Inflatables. A great day was had by all and it raised an incredible £2102.66. Thanks to everyone who attended and gave so generously.
