Dr Peter Cutler
Peter has a background in management consultancy and business development and has worked on many public-private partnership projects in the UK and overseas. Peter is a past partner in Grant Thornton as Head of Government & Infrastructure advisory.
Peter is also a landlord in Great Yarmouth, providing good-quality accommodation to working people at reasonable rents. Having housed many young people who were starting out in life, he was surprised to discover that there was little or no government or charitable support available to them if they got into difficulties He therefore worked with Ben Stone to identify the precise needs not currently met by the system, and co-founded the East Anglia Anchorage Trust to provide tenant and landlord support, including the provision of good quality accommodation, life skills, job training and job opportunities for tenants.
Our Property and Business advisory board is separate to our trustee board and was formed to offer socially aware, good quality landlords and investors and business leaders looking to influence projects that fill gaps in the labour market a chance to be involved in our work and to help shape the work that we do going forwards. It is essential to the work that we do that we continue to think of new methods of driving down rents and keep our work attractive to investors who offer high quality housing options and to local businesses and employers who can open opportunities for young people. The members of this board then have the opportunity to feed into our trustees. This board brings a huge amount of experience and expertise in property and business development.
